Songs You Don’t Just Hear, You Feel

Read My Lips (Acoustic Version)
My most defiant song, stripped to skin and bone.

Out July 17

Just guitar, piano, and voice.

No production to hide behind.

This is the one that scared me.

It is also the truest thing I have made.

Now You Read Mine

"Read my lips" is a demand the world makes of deaf people every day. Do the work. Keep up. Make everyone else comfortable.

For years, I did.

This song is the moment I stopped.

Not a request. A reversal. Not inspiration. A battle cry.

I Don't Hear Music the Way You Do.
I Feel It.

Most artists start with sound.

I start with a feeling I can't ignore.

I'm Deaf, late-deafened as an adult, and it didn't end music. It stripped it down.

I went deaf later in life, and it didn't end music. It stripped it down. It forced me to trust instinct over perfection, to build songs from vibration, memory, and physical sensation instead of what something is supposed to sound like.

So I don't record the way you'd expect. I lay down each element alone, the guitar first, then the piano, then my voice, so I can feel exactly how each one moves through my chest before any of them meet. My body is the studio monitor. When something is wrong, the hair on my arms stands up before I can name it. When it's right, heat climbs from my chest and the back of my neck, and I know.

Not because I heard it. Because my body told me the truth.

Full production or stripped to the bone, the process is the same. I don't chase the note. I don't chase the lyric. I chase the feeling underneath both.

This isn't background music. It's built to land in your chest and stay there. Low end you feel before you recognize it. Breath woven into the rhythm. Melodies that move like touch instead of structure.

Press play. Feel everything.

A New Chapter, In the Quiet

Read My Lips (Acoustic Version) is the first single from Through My Skin: In the Quiet, a stripped-back companion to my debut album.

Same songs. Same defiance. Nothing to hide behind.

The full-production versions shout to a room. These say it straight to your face, with nothing else in the room at all.

Where It Comes From: Through My Skin

Before the quiet, there was the full spectrum. My debut album, out now, the full-production home these acoustic versions come from.

Don’t shuffle.
This is a story.

Go deeper into the songs...
what they mean, where they came from, and what they cost me.
