Waymon Hudson is a Deaf, queer singer-songwriter, late-deafened as an adult, whose music does one thing above all: it lands in the body. He went deaf later in life, and instead of ending music, it rebuilt how he makes it. He composes through vibration, chest resonance, and muscle memory, recording each element alone so he can feel it before the sounds ever meet. His body is the studio monitor.

His debut album Through My Skin is a sensual, full-spectrum pop record about connection beyond sound. His acoustic era, Through My Skin: In the Quiet, strips those songs to guitar, piano, and voice, with nothing to hide behind. The lead single, "Read My Lips (Acoustic Version)," is his most defiant song taken all the way down: "read my lips" is the demand deaf people get every day, and the song flips it. No. You read mine now. It arrives, intentionally, during Disability Pride Month.

The defiance is not a pose. Before he was a recording artist, Hudson founded the national LGBTQ+ advocacy organization Fight Out Loud (covered by CNN, MSNBC, and The New York Times) and organized the largest protest in Fort Lauderdale history. He has contributed to HuffPost, the Chicago Tribune, and Encyclopedia Britannica, and is a forthcoming contributor to the Proud Outtakes anthology. Across music, horror fiction, memoir, and stage, the work is the same: sensation turned into story, always from the body, always unmistakably his. He is also, when the moment calls for it, very funny.
